Janette Turner Hospital has many enigmatic stories in this vein in her brilliant volume _Isobars_. I don't know if you want to look at translations, as you mention "poco writers" but don't add "in English". I am thinking of Mia Couto, an at times wonderful writer from Mozambique, and no doubt other people could add figures from Latin America. david callahan ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ David Callahan Departamento de Linguas e Culturas Universidade de Aveiro 3810 Aveiro Portugal --- from list postcolonial-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu --- --- from list postcolonial-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu ---
