Sorry--I think you mistake profit for the rich as profit for everyone.  This,
from a country which has the largest gap between rich and poor in the so-
called first world--and growing, too, Imight add.  Do the poor profit from
military buildup up, save for an occasional opportunity to serve as potential
cannon fodder in that nation's army? How about spending some money on things
that are really  good for society like better medical facilities for EVERYONE,
not just the spoiled fat cats and their children?  How about education, so we
can have an educated public, not one, as Frederick Douglass noted, imprisoned
in darkness?  How about drug rehab instead of phony "drug wars" that are
really excuses to monitor the business of other countries? 

Chomsky would be horrifed.
