Robert Young in _Colonial Desire_ and Homi Bhaba in _Location of Culture_
have both written extensively about hybridity, and if I'm remembering
correctly, Chris Bongie in _Exotic Memories_ offers a useful critique of
reading hybridity as somehow resistant or subversive.

Additionally, any work on global capitalism and the appropriation of
difference into commodity circulation would offer some perspectives on the
limits of hybridity as a trope or strategy of resistance to (neo)colonial
control.
