My  undergraduate students have liked the poetry of Dennis Brutus and
the fiction of Bessie Head. I've also been tempted to use Ezekiel
Mphahlele's autobiography DOWN SECOND AVENUE (esp. because of his depiction of the
interaction between Asians and Africans)--but so far I haven't.
