Subject: hot mail and Therouxnonsense

To patient Radhika and the rest of us not amused by the sex offers:
perhaps the best revenge is to ignore the post altogether; the fewer hits
they get, the less likely they'll try again? At any rate, it is not worth
time and rage some of us spent on this. Let's all scroll blissfully past,
to the more entertaining Naipaul/Theroux flap. According to PT in the
NYorker article, the remainderer wanted 1500 bucks for one inscribed
volume. The sad venom of the article speaks for itself, and makes the rest
of us ease a sigh of relief at our own mediocrity, if fame comes at this
soul-searing price. The NYorker piece --for those of us who dable in pop
psych, is a long unrequited love-hatred song. cz
