now that the responses to the sex post are dying down, here's a little
academic follow-up. i'm sure nobody is interested but:

those who read the offending sex message will remember that the first
holder of the group sex marathon record was one annabelle chong. now here
at usc in lost angela annabelle chong was at the center of a bigger
controversy a year or so back. the woman who went by that name in the porn
world has now repudiated the sex-industry and has enrolled in the school
of theatre/fine art at usc. as part of a class presentation on the
objectification of women in pornographic film she and a classmate enacted
a graphic illustration of the same. all hell broke loose shortly after and
destroy-the-nea type discussions broke out in the usc newspaper. it  all
eventually died down ( i think) but not before the woman formerly known as
annabelle chong said a number of highly articulate and incisive things
about sex, art, women and exploitation that must surely have unsettled
some people.

so, if our tranquil world was to be disturbed by dispatches from the
seamier side we can perhaps take some comfort in that it involved the work
ofsomeone who is now a smart media critic.
