ASIAN AMERICAN WOMEN & SUICIDE

If you are an Asian American woman of 18 years or older who knows an Asian
American female family member or friend who has committed suicide, or if
you yourself have made an attempt at suicide or thought seriously about
attempting suicide, and you would be willing to take part in a research
project on suicide among Asian American women, please contact:

Eliza Noh
Graduate Program in Ethnic Studies
506 Barrows Hall
University of California at Berkeley
Berkeley, CA 94720
(510) 883-0804
elizanoh-AT-socrates.berkeley.edu

Your participation in the study would involve a completely confidential
interview about your experience with suicide in relation to issues of
race, gender, and/or sexuality pertinent to the social-environmental
contexts of family, education, culture, community, and larger society.
The interview consists of no more than 3 sessions of 45 minutes each. The
goal of the study is to illuminate the often stigmatized, under-researched
topic of Asian American suicide and its relation to racism and sexism.
