How about Coco Fusco and Gomez Pena; Jennifer Robertson on Japanese 
cross-dressing theatre [new ish book from UC Press);  Karen Shimakawa's work on 
Asian American theatre (try her at UCD); or Jennifer Brody's book on 
passing (Duke).  This is off the top of my head--I could probably 
find refs if you want.
