I was wishing all members of the list a happy (although the appropriateness of the word "happy" may be open to debate) Labour/Labor Day... not just the Americans and not just the Canadians, and not just either. I spelled it "Labour" because that's how I learned to spell it (as did most other Canadians of my generation), and see no compelling reason to spell it differently... and only continue in this trivial dialogue because I don't like to be corrected for what wasn't a mistake. So, please, wherever you are, whatever language or idiom you prefer to receive greetings in, feel free to translate and respell my sincere wishes for a hopeful celebration of the cause of workers.
