Greetings all:
I was actually wondering what sources are out there that might be helpful in
discussing genital mutilation with undergraduates (juniors). I'm teaching
Woman at Point Zero" amongst other texts that broach the subject in my
"Politics of Gender in African fiction" course. I have not been able to sit
through the Walker film because it epitomized to me a kind of Black American
cultural imperialism under the guise of progressive politics. I remember with
some rage her discussion of going to Jamaica "in search of Bob Marley." Simply
appalling.
Anyhoo, any advice would be helpful
