I'm teaching Woman at Point Zero" amongst other texts that broach the subject in my "Politics of Gender in African fiction" course. I have not been able to sit through the Walker film because it epitomized to me a kind of Black American cultural imperialism under the guise of progressive politics. I remember with some rage her discussion of going to Jamaica "in search of Bob Marley." Simply appalling. Anyhoo, any advice would be helpful Joe clarke --- from list postcolonial-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu ---
