I have found, Reading National Georgraphic by Catherine A. Lutz and Jane L
Collins, University of Chicago Press, 1993, to be useful.  White Skins Black
Mask: Representation and Colonialism by Gail Ching-Liang Low,  Routledge,
1996 and The Third Eye:  Race, Cinema and Ethnographic Spectacle by Fatimah
Tobing Rony are also interesting reading.

I would also be interested in knowing more about your research, I have a
similiar interest in developing 'paradigms for see' which was the title and
topic of my dissertation.
