Subject: angels

Does anyone out there know the origin of the phrase, "Angels in the
Archiecture"? The most recent popular use of it has been in Paul Simon's
song (You Can Call me Al). I've been told that there's a biblical
reference to it and that it's also important to Muslims. I've also read
something vague about it being a sign of lunacy -- that at one point, a
lot of peple in asylums claimed to have seen angels in the architecture.
Thanks
