I though Afzar's piece was passionate and provocative and absolutely lucid.
I have certain disagreements with some of it but on the whole I would
suggest that we need more pieces like this on the list if it is to serve any
kind of intellectual purpose. This list has often functioned as a resource
list rather than as a site for stimulating discussion. If a piece happens to
be too long for one then don't read it. If its too erudite for another find
something else to do. But the kind of idiotic denunciations made by "woolf"
really lack merit of any kind.

I am going to respond to Afzar at length later once I have digested all the
info provided. Upfront his claim about Spivak versus Bhabha and Said is
right on the mark
