There's an article by David Macey in Radical Philosophy 95 May/June 1999
called "Fanon, phenomenology and race" in which Macey talks about "the
unfortunate decision to translate the title of Chapter 5 as 'The Fact of
Blackness' and not as 'The Lived Experience of the Black Man'"  He says,
"Indeed the point of Fanon's exercise in socio-diagnostics is to demonstrate
that there is no 'fact' of blackness (or, by the same criterion, whiteness);
both are a from of live experience.." etc

Also there's a book titled The Fact of Blackness put out by Bay Press 1996
and edited by Alan Read.  Includes a heap of good stuff by some famous
people.  Someone else might have mentioned it already.
