Subject: Re: The Mesmerism of (Post?)Colonial Britain


Last week, a press report from England mentioned that the word is out - 
abroad among those who care, as well as within the domestic electorate - that 
the UK is now the easiest developed country in which to gain asylum.  The 
report mentioned this in conncection with serious political problems being 
faced by Tony Blair and his government.
