Dear Eric
I am an irregular follower reader of your emails but for some reason read
your latest containing what I can only consider to be an ill considered and
trite remark about the situation in Fiji.

You said:
"Look at Fiji, the quietist place on Earth till a few
>weeks ago. But under the surface, something had been brewing.
>Indigenous people versus smart immigrants, in this case. Don't
>people ever see these things coming?"

I am no expert on Fiji but I know enough to know that your comment about
Fiji is trite, insulting and dismissive on many counts, not just to the
people of Fiji - Indigenous and non-Indigenous. Perhaps you should think
before you hit send, or at least contain yourself to the Northern
hemisphere!!

Jane
