A minor doubt: Since when are Quebecers (especially in Canada) the other? You make it sound as if they have been politically oppressed for the past two hundred years! Or is that "other" status a recent political invention, nice to use in jingoistic nationalism? It would seem that some discourses are more valid than others, at least from an historical perspective.
