Subject: decolonisation and colonial discourse Date: Thu, 31 Aug 2000 11:38:15 +1100 (EST) Dear List members Does anyone know of works that critique discourses of colonialism specifically in the Pacific, or more generally, in a period beginning roughly after WW2 when the decolonisation process for many Pacific states began? Critique of earlier periods, when colonisation was in full swing are common. What I am after is an examination of the period marked by discourses of liberalism, albeit it many ways contradictory, that resulted in the loosening of the reigns and eventual political independence in the 60s and 70s. Thanks in advance, Greg Burnett --- from list postcolonial-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu ---
