Subject: Re: Whiteness in Europe?

Although I don't have a specific title with full bibliographic info to
give right now, I think it would be a good idea to look at Mineke
Schipper's work. She has two books out (one from the 70's, The Image of
the White in African Literature, and a more recent one, 1996) about issues
of the image of the white person in African literatures and theories of
whiteness. Her articles on the subject (one appeared in 1995? in Research
in African Literatures) are also interesting. Best, Lisa
