Thanks much.  I found one website for Toer,but there doesn't seem to be much
scholarly interest in his work.   I'm teaching his novel in a course I call
"Cowboys and Indians"--the clash between Europeans and indigenous people in a
number of places around the world--North America, Africa, Latin America,
Australia, etc.
