Subject: Re: cuban/latin american issue of Illuminations

List-members might be interested to know of the publication of the latest
issue of _Illuminations_. The new issue (#17) features translations and
new poems by Cuban and Cuban-American writers (Reinaldo Arenas, Heberto
Padilla, Rafael Bordao, Jorge Valls, Virgil Suarez, Adrian Castro, Sandra
Castillo, Carolina Hospital, Gustavo Perez Firmat, et al.), as well as a
short piece on Cuban decimas, and photographs by Craig Barber and Kimberly
Narenkivicius. In addition to the Cuban material there are also
translations from prominent Brazilian (Ledo Ivo, Marina Colasanti, Carlos
Drummond, Denise Emmer), Argentinian (Roberto Juarroz), Bolivian (Oscar
Cerruto), and Chilean (Marino Munoz Lagos) poets, as well as an
appreciation of Joao Cabral de Melo Neto.
