Subject: terrorists are not a product of religion


terrorist are products of their political envirement.
they are used by leaders who would provide them with a
justification of their deeds by taking a words or 2
from holy texts and invent stories like the so many
versions of the Mahdi al-Muntadhar (actually, one of
them has a story that an attack will be done with a
donkey with huge iron ears (does this ring a bell...)i
heard this story many years ago...these "religious"
leaders use religion...in the Dark Ages for example,
the priests sold the populace "checks of redemption",
now christianity, judaism and even buddhism are sold
on the streets of NYC everyday, I see European-
looking Buddhist monks calling me to buy tapes and
books....no matter how religious we are, we cannot
deny that many made/make profit out of religion and
gain/ed power thanks to religion. but i don't think
that the "terrorists" would have seen any wrong with
killing, since we tend to forget that they were/are
not (fuqaha fi din) or theologists, they are products
of the political-reactionary groups who had already
"explained" and justified that act to them, they are
the army of leaders who want political power not a
religious one ( i think if these want religious power,
they would follow other ways).
