You know, to read some of these articles you would never know that the
Iraq-Iran war ever happened.  That Mid-East strongmen ever
appropriated US foreign aid for their own uses and left their children
to starve because starving children are useful to them. That some
communities rather than protecting their children encourage and
celebrate their  "martyrdom". That throughout the Muslim/Arab world
rulers who do not tolerate dissent  disseminate hate.  Perhaps the new
world order is not so much that these people are treating us the way
we treat them but that they are treating us the way they treat each
other. 

Suprisingly the Bush administration has not reverted to business as
usual. The same cannot be said of the reflexive action of most of the
left.
