Now, the multiculturalists do appeal to DIFFERENCE but they do appeal also to the EQUALITY of cultures.
And the racists do appeal to DIFFERENCE but they do appeal also to the INEQUALITY of races.
So, what's important here, the IDENTITY or the DIFFERENCE of the two claims?

And, yes, the colonized needs borders against the colonizer; the imperialized against the imperialist. Even the de-colonized or the de-imperialized still need to defend his/her self-defined and self-imposed (not other-defined other-imposed) borders. They still need cultural and moral "build up" to convince, but not "deter", all and every contesting Other, about their Self-proposals and about what should globally count as an Identity.
