1. Tonight, for the first part of our program we will speak with

BOB WING,
editor of a new publication, War Times. Wing will discuss
grassroots media's role in broad discussions of peace and social
justice today, as well as activism and organizing amidst
"permanent war."

2. For the second segment, we'll discuss important Asian and
Asian American responses to 9/11. Our focus will be a new
special issue of Amerasia Journal: "After Words: Who Speaks on
War, Justice and Peace?" with:
RUSSELL LEONG,
editor of Amerasia Journal
MOUSTAFA BAYOUMI,
contributor to this issue on the subject of race and religion in
the U.S.

3. Finally, we'll speak with
GAYATRI CHAKRAVORTY SPIVAK,
about the recent wave of religious violence in India, the World
Hindu Council's (VHP) Ayodhya campaign and its Indian American
supporters.

MOUSTAFA BAYOUMI is Assistant Professor of English at Brooklyn
College, CUNY.

RUSSELL LEONG, editor of Amerasia Journal, is author of Phoenix
Eyes and Other Stories.

GAYATRI CHAKRAVORTY SPIVAK is Avalon Foundation Professor in the
Humanities at Columbia University and an eminent writer,
translator and theorist.

BOB WING, the editor of War Times, is the former editor of
Colorlines magazine and an analyst, activist and editor for over
30 years.
