The University of Warwick is holding a 2 day international conference on the 
work of the South African writer J.M. Coetzee, ('J.M. Coetzee and the Ethics 
of Intellectual Practice') on April 26th - 27th, 2002, sponsored by the 
British Academy. The conference will open with a free public lecture given 
by David Attwell (Natal, South Africa) at 5pm, Friday 26th April, library 
lecture room 1. ALL WELCOME. Other speakers include Derek Attridge, Mike 
Marais, Rosemary Jolly, Michael Bell, Rita Barnard, Elleke Boehmer and 
Michael Valdez Moses. Benita Parry, Peter McDonald and Graham Huggan will be 
amongst those chairing panels. Though the programme is full we would be 
delighted if you could attend. A provisional programme and registration form
