Subject: Help: Conceptualizing race relations in the Caribbean
Date: Fri, 08 Mar 2002 14:18:17 -0500

Hello everyone:

I am at the first stages of a project attempting to conceptualize relations
between Non-European racial/ethnic groups in the Caribbean -- specifically
Trinidad and other islands with significant populations descended from East
Indian indentured laborers that are then placed in a competitive position in
relation to significant populations descended from enslaved Africans. I'm
hoping to use literary and political trends as points of departure upon
which I can embark on the exploration of this topic.

I'm looking to the listserve for help with regards to titles that may be of
some help. They can be both fiction and non-fiction. I'd really appreciate
any suggestions anyone may have that can help me out.
