Dharmini

I used the word "scary" in describing the financial support the VHP is
getting from the British Government, through the National Lottery. And the
fact that it is one of the groups consulted in designing the course
curriculum for religious education as part of school education in the UK.
Given the VHP's performance in Gujarat and beyond in India, such support and
recognition for the VHP is a scary prospect -- for young students in
Britain, and, I daresay, for the many Hindus who do not believe that the VHP
represents them.

As for the Hindu Students' Councils in universities -- I suppose they're
fine, so long as it is not a state-funded activity, and so long as the
state/university does not fund activities of other religions either.
