Amitav ghosh's essay about the visit of the Cambodian king, Sisiwoth (sp.?)
to France in the 19th century makes fascinating reading. It refers to his
visit in the past, and he refers to contemporary French accounts. I can't
get hold of it at the moment, but the piece, which appeared first in Granta
and is in his book, "Dancing in Cambodia, at large in Burma", refers to
those French accounts about the Cambodian dance troop's long visit to
France, their meetings with Rodin, etc.

I'm about to go on my vacation, so can't provide details at this moment.
When I'm back, if you haven't found it....

Happy new year to all...

Salil
