It's a study on the role of "the stranger" in Europe with lots of historical background information that goes all the way back to the ancient Greeks and deals with the society's view on exiles, outcasts etc. It is not a primary source in itself, but in the footnotes, you will find lots of references to material that could be interesting for you.
