Subject: Re: modern lits of the non-western world Date: Tue, 24 Dec 2002 04:11:12 -0700 This is a multi-part message in MIME format. Dear Marva, Clariss & colleagues, You may want to use the titles appended below. I've variously used them, in Canada & two Taiwanese universities, in the study of world literature, most particularly in the study of the lits. of Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Besides the English versions of the original texts, these editions have scholarly headnotes, ample bibliographical data, and phonetic aids on the pronunciation of non-Western material (titles, proper nouns, place names, &ct.). Happily, they are in print, and, what's more, they're updated almost annually. I hope you'll find them equally useful. Kind regards & season's greetings to all. M. Deeb, PhD.
