Really "The bastard wisdom of the Koran" is what my ancestor Arthur Rimbaud called. But we are neither for nor against this religion business. Remember if Islam had won, they too would oppress. To me it is not a question of good/bad dual dances, but a

also, in response to the rushdie debate: why shouldnt rushdie use his visibility to protest abuses within the muslim community? just because this community is an oppressed minority in some parts of the world (but is it, in the netherlands?) doesnt mean that abuses in it arent quite real. and should be addressed, discussed, no? how does that amount to rushdie being a sellout?
