and what are you going to do? go to a protest that
won't do any good? write an article for a
dissident/academic journal that no one (1 in a 1000)
in the masses will read?

you know it's funny i was at this bookstore and the
owner wastellingme how my wife and i needed to go to
this protest to stop the war in iraq and howbush
needed to hear our collective voices. i just looked at
her and said, 'do u think bush actually cares an ounce
for what the public says? he's going to bomb whether 2
ppl protest or 2 million protest.' she just looked at
me and said 'well if we don't do anything then he's
won.' so i replied 'he won when he got elected. he's
there to serve his own ends while the ppl are just
there to foot his bill.'

my point is that while it's nice to disseminate
articles so we know of current events, it's pointless
to think there's anything anyone can do that will
realistically cange the course of events already set
in motion years ago. unless of course everyone were to
stop paying their taxes which would put a dent in his
war budget but ppl aretoo scaredto go againsttheir
gov't to do anything like that on a mass level which
is the only way it might work. 10 ppl in omaha won't
really have an effect except to get them sent to
prison.
