Subject: North african novel


Dear all
A while back someone mentioned a North African (Morrocan?) novel 
about a ruler who brings up his daughter as a son. Does this sound 
familiar to anyone? I'd be very grateful if someone could send me 
the title and author--it sounded like promising material for my 
postcolonial bodies course...
