it's easy to say an argument that is not liked in a
debate is a diatribe. i'm not sure how these proposed
limits would be done. sometimes people need to make
longwinded speeches in order to get their points
across. i've seen many a person who i thought to
myself are you done yet, and so i just ignored them or
in the case of the internet deleted them.

besides, limits should define themselves, not be
imposed. usually on lists a topic has a span of about
a week (give or take) before ppl get tired of it and
move on.

just some thoughts. hit delete if you think something
is becoming a diatribe. i'd be willing to bet that
there are many on this list who hit delete every time
they see maldoror.
