I think you sell the process short. The US is owned by the top 1/5 of 1% -
but by and large these are nice folks who endow libraries and NPR etc. Many
are personally liberal in their private lives. One thing for sure is that
they are very eager to retain their positions of ownership and control. They
are prepared to give way to retain most of what they have. Currently their
power has been hijacked by a group of fascists - but that does not mean that
the larger group will support those fascists no matter what - provided
merely that their interests are given first priority. They look to election
results to spot incipient trends - thus there is power in the growing small
percent who refuse to buy into the world view their representatives support.
I remember when it was proposed that people of color be allowed to be actors
on TV commercials - clearly an impossibly idealistic idea since their
presence would hurt the products! Right? Look at what has in fact happened.
Try it just once - won't hurt - might feel good - go out and vote against
the republicrat candidates for pres, gov, sen, house, etc. Consider it an
experiment in consciousness expansion.
"
there is no possible way in the current presidential
voting climate that a 3rd party can win due to the way
the system is set up. elections are all about
marketting and how can a third party compete against
the monstrosity that is the republicrat marketting
budget with their billions to put up signs everywhere
et al.
