hello,

i am trying to locate this qoute: "the french language is my exile" i have 
read it in arabic somewhere, but i don't remember who said/wrote it. i know 
it s an algerian writer, who chose to stop writing because he couldn't write 
in arabic and he didn't want to write in the colonizers' language.

i'd truely appreciate any help in locating this statement.

Also, can anyone suggest any critical work on Ngugi?
