there is an interesting chapter in the text _bodylore_ which deals with marriage preparation as a means of drawing the body into relief (as opposed to marking on the body, "the body" literally comes to be through its ornamentation in preparation for marriage).

Hi all,
Happy New Year!  I need help finding sources that
deal with marriage imagery, symbols in India,
especially as they relate to Hinduism.  In
particular, I would like to find materials
relating to bridal costuming, decoration, etc. 
Additionally, if there are any sources in terms
of representation of any of the above in art,
literature, and popular culture, that'd be a
bonus.

If anyone can guide me towards finding these
materials, I'd really appreciate it.
