Subject: Reading Lolita in Tehran
Date: Tue, 10 Feb 2004 12:40:40 -0500

I just read Azar Nafisi's "Reading Lolita in Tehran,"

While I was able to grasp what it was like for elite women to live in
revolutionary Iran, it was less clear to me what life was like for
those in the countryside, or poor and even middle class women, who
might have welcomed the revolution. The revolution itself was pretty
opaque to me, even after reading the book.

Anyone else read the book? any comments?
