Subject: Re: help with post-doc process

Hello all,

I have similar concerns as Anuradha's. I have a Master's from Bangladesh,
another from Texas and a Ph.D from Texas as well. But since I returned to
Bangladesh in 1999 I am finding it more formidable to regain a foothold in
the Western academia in the form of a post doc or a visiting professorship.
It does make sense in some respects, I won't be an easily available
candidate for interviews, for example.

On top of that, getting an entry visa is another matter. This year I was
denied a Canadian visa to attend the CACLALS conference in Manitoba where I
was to deliver a paper.

Are there better processes involved ?

Thanks,

Dr. Rebecca Sultana
Professor, Department of English
East West University
