In response to Robert Smythe's post on muppet fleece.

IMO pupets made with the fleece do not have to end up looking like muppets.
Using several colors on the puppets and detailing with chalks, paints, makeup
or soft sculpture can give a unique and personal look to these puppets.
I find the fleece to be sturdy, assuming the puppets are stored in a trunk or
bag.
I've had the foam under the fleece deteriorate to nothing, and the fleece
still hangs on ... for several performances even. Many other fabrics (terry,
velour) will not do this.
It does flatten out the features, so special effort must be made to bring
them out (as listed above). We don't use muppet fleece on all of our puppets,
but I'm sure glad I have it as an option.
