Subject: "Dora" awards nominate puppet show!

Puppet theatre nominated for a "Tony" award?!?!

Well, it's just happened in Canada! The Dora Mavor Moore Awards, which are
Canada's (Toronto's) equivalent to the American "Tony" awards, have just
announced their nominations, and Ronnie Burkett's "TINKA'S NEW DRESS"
garnered six -- yes, SIX -- nominations in the mid-size theatre division !!!

Ronnie Burkett himself was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male
in a Play, Outstanding Set Design, and Outstanding Costume Design. TINKA'S
NEW DRESS was nominated for Outstanding Production of a Play, and Brian
Kerby and Cathy Nosaty were nominated for Outstanding Lighting Design and
Outstanding Sound or Music, respectively.

I saw this production a total of 10-1/2 times in both Toronto and Ottawa,
and can personally attest to its "OUTSTANDING" nature! Many, many
congratulations, Ronnie -- these nominations are well deserved, and good
luck at the awards!
