The trick to a successful home page is advertising it.  No one will 
know it's there unless you get the word out.  That means linking and 
cross-linking with other pages (topically related or not), signing 
every note and post and e-mail with your web page address, and 
putting the address on business cards.  (Although make sure your 
address is permanent.  I created Prodigy's Puppetry web page, ordered 
a gazillion business cards, and *then* Prodigy changed their file 
system to a new address.  Old business cards make lovely coasters....
)

One more step I forgot - register your page on every conceivable 
search tool - Alta Vista, Yahoo, Submit-it, etc.
