Perhaps this might be one way to get the money owed to you. Even if it doesn't work, don't you think you would be doing other artists a favour by warning them to be cautious in dealing with this individual? If you were genuinely ripped off, and you've tried all the other options, you have every right to make your sad story known. But a word of warning - be careful how you word any accusations you're making in public. You don't want to get done for defamation, and truth isn't always a defence; if in doubt, get advice from a legal eagle. I know this kind of thing happens to writers, and quite often you'll see writers' warnings to other writers on the alt.writing newsgroup, so I think it's becoming a common way to keep artistic communities informed.
