I'm interested in all the talk about swazzles. would be interested to know why those who use them choose to do so (apart from their tradition) and how they're received by the audiences. i've always felt that it renders punch largely unintelligible and since here, unlike england, people aren't familiar with the show, it didn't make sense to put further obstacles in the path of their appreciation. so, i just give my punch a slightly nasal tone. i wouldn't take the same approach in england and my hat's off to anyone who successfully uses the swazzle, wherever they are. btw, Bruce Chesse does a perfect imitation of a punch swazzle without mechanical aid.
