What kind of puppet show are you performing?  Where? In a theatre? Does the
lighting need to be free-standing? Is the stage portable or not? What kind
of equipment have you already got? Are there special effects you want to
get across, or just straight lighting? Tough question to answer without
more info!

I can try to help you find info - also check out "Stage Lighting in the
Boondocks" by James Hull Miller and "The Complete Book of Puppet Theatre by
David Currell, or "Building the Puppet Stage" by a feller I can't remember
the name of but available through the POA store.
