Welcome to the group, Nancy.  I'm sure you probably know this if you've
done some woodcarving, but do make sure the wood is "cured" before you
carve it.  Otherwise, you can get some nasty surprises when the green
wood dries out.

One of the most beautiful marionette horses I ever saw was carved by a
man name Joe Cashore.  It was strung so it could trot, canter, gallop,
rear up, and generally move like a real horse.  Quite spectacular.  Good
