Subject: Re: Punch & Judy scripts


All of the sources mentioned thus far for scripts are good ones.  But to
really learn how to do a Punch & Judy Show, you need to see one.  The
scripts really don't convey the traditional performance style.  We made a
video about the Punch & Judy Show in England when we were there in 1988.
It includes bits of many different British Punch shows, plus interviews
with Punch professors (performers.)  If you are a member of the Puppeteers
of America, you can borrow this video from the PofA's Audio-Visual Library.
The video is called: "An Opera Or A Huproar: The British Punch and Judy."
If you can get to England to see some shows, that's even better!
