Kerry, Are you interested in some good practical suggestions regarding "performance jitters" ? I taught Speech and Drama at the University level as well as public speaking and have dealt with MANY "weak kneed" speakers and performs ! The best remedy is to BE PREPARED, as prepared as you possibly can be, not just "technically" (all equipment examined before a performance) and "mentally" (imagine all the possible WORST things that could happen and what you would do if they did). Remember "fear" is good, it gets you concentrated on what you are doing, "panic" is not as it's unreasonable fear. It's nice to always remember that your audience WANTS things to go well for you and it only gets uncomfortable and embarassed when YOU let them see that you are panic stricken and embarassed. You can turn almost ANYTHING to your advantage if you have thought of it in advance and what you would do if it happened - even if your pants fall off ! <grin> There's more if you care to hear it. --- Personal replies to: patriot-AT-topcat.mip.net --- List replies to: puptcrit-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu --- Admin commands to: majordomo-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu
