Subject: Re:Politically Correct Puppet Theater

I think the pendulum has swung way too far in this politically correct
stuff. I am a teacher in a school district in the San Francisco Bay Area.
I travel to all of the elementary schools in the district as a Creative
Arts Specialist...using ventriloquism, puppetry, music, creative dance,
storytelling, etc. in my 50 minute lessons. In some of the schools, the
principals have recommended "no witches" for Halloween and other things
like that. Last year, I didn't do ANY holiday stuff all year to be
politically correct.....I just didn't want to deal with the issue.

This year, one of the principals asked me to have the kids prepare a
Christmas Program for the parents with the 1st and 2nd graders. I decided
to forget this politically correct stuff. We are actually going to sing
Silent Night as one of the songs......and the principal said that if there
was any flack about it, he would deal with it! ......Maybe the pendulum is
starting to swing the other way......
